Bio

Ariaster B. Chimeli earned his Bachelor's degree from UFMG and master's and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ariaster was an associate professor at Ohio University and taught at Columbia University and University of Illinois at Urbanan-Champaign before becoming a faculty member at FEA-USP.

Research

Professor Chimeli specializes in environmental economics. His research includes work on growth and the environment, climate, tropical deforestation, international trade and the environment, energy economics and environmental valuation.
